                             OUR MISSION
To serve our parish family
by responding to spiritual, sacramental and emotional needs of parishioners who are in nursing homes, in hospital or confined to their homes, or who seek to restore connection with our faith community.

Pastoral Care of the Sick and Home-bound

Visitations: To hospitals, nursing homes, senior homes and private residences

Mass at Nursing Homes & Senior Homes: Volunteers support with setting up for Mass, assisting seniors at the Mass and socializing

Anointing of the Sick: The Sacrament of the Sick is administered by the priest to help the seriously ill or anxious, any person preparing for surgery, or for the dying, in order to bring the spirit of peace and strength

Reconciliation: The Sacrament of Penance permits reconciliation with God and our faith community. The person takes on the penance given by the priest as an act of sorrow for sin.

Communion: Volunteers who are Eucharistic Ministers pray with the sick and home-bound. They bring Communion to those unable to attend Mass.

Prayer: Intersession for the sick and suffering. Intentions added to prayers offered at Mass.

Special Masses: For the sick, suffering, elderly and bereaved.

Blessing of Homes: During Epiphany or upon request at other times.

The Pastoral Care Team offers spiritual, emotional and social support to you, and your loved ones, as you deal with difficulties that come about because of illness, injury, disability, aging, isolation, or grief and loss, or confronting a life-limiting medical diagnosis.

Privacy laws do not allow St. Gregory the Great Parish to be notified if a parishioner is hospitalized, home-bound or enters a health care facility. We must hear from the parishioner or a family member or a friend, if someone wishes the support of our Pastoral Care Team.
To arrange for Communion, the Sacrament of the Sick, or a visit for yourself or a loved one, you may contact the Parish Office: 613-476-6276.

All members of the Pastoral Care Team are screened according to the Policies of the Archdiocese of Kingston. Vulnerable Sector police checks are included in this process.

The Pastoral Care Team always appreciates volunteers to assist in person, in spirit or in prayer. If you feel called to this ministry of service please contact  the Parish Office.

We Would Love to meet You at Mass!                                                      send us an email: click the envelope icon
