This ministry appeals to parishioners inspired to bring creativity and solidarity in behind-the-scenes ways (including decorating the sanctuary) so as to honour the beauty of God’s house and the sacredness of the Body of Christ. Those who assist in the Liturgical Art & Environmentministry dedicate their flair, skill, care and a few hours to prepare a hospitable environment that enhances the dwelling place of God and prepares a worship space worthy for liturgical, devotional and contemplative prayer.This ministry endeavours to bring greater awareness of the mystery of the Lord’s presence in our midst.
Activities of the committee include:
making a welcoming environment that encourages full and active participation
attention to liturgical seasons, including specific observances and colours
decorating to reflect seasons of the Church liturgical year (Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, Pentecost) and special events (Thanksgiving, Remembrance, etc.)
housekeeping the sanctuary and altar (including care of linens)
sharing tasks according to capability and talent
attending planning meetings on an as needed basis
Volunteers are welcome to bring talents, skills and ideas to serve our parish. Participation may include a one-time project or an ongoing dedication.
